APWCA 2017 Abstracts

Email notifications confirming receipt will be sent within 72 hours of submission. Every attempt will be made to notify the primary author of acceptance status within two weeks of original submission to ensure registration and travel arrangements can be accommodated in a timely manner.
Accepted abstracts will be distributed via print format in the “Proceedings of the APWCA 2017 National Clinical Conference” publication. Complimentary copies will be available during the conference, September 7-9, 2017, and will be available for download in PDF format post-conference for APWCA members. Primary authors for accepted abstracts will receive complimentary conference registration. Upon acceptance, registration details will be emailed to the primary author. Authors and oral abstract presenters are responsible for travel and hotel expenses.
Primary authors for accepted abstracts will receive complimentary registration for the entire 3-day meeting. Upon acceptance, a promo code will be emailed to the primary contact for use in our online registration system. Presenters are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements.
Each accepted abstract will be provided an 8’ by 4’ horizontal poster board display and pushpins. Each board will be numbered corresponding with the number(s) assigned in the “Proceedings of the APWCA 2017 National Clinical Conference” onsite printed book.
Abstracts must be ready for presentation by 8:00 am on Friday, September 8, 2017. Setup time for posters is Thursday, September 7, 2017 and Friday, September 8, 2017 at 7:00 am. All presenters are required to have posters available for review from Friday, September 8, 2017 at 8:00 am until Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 5:00 pm. Early removal of poster material is prohibited.
The top 5 abstracts will be selected to present a 10-minute oral lecture (with power point slides) in the general session room on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Presenters will be chosen by the abstract committee and notified no later than August 5, 2017.
Abstracts should address an area of Wound Healing, Limb Salvage or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Content must constitute original research, but may include portions of prior abstracts and/or manuscripts presented elsewhere. Clinical studies, basic investigation and animal studies are equally encouraged to be submitted for review.
Abstracts must be submitted in English.
You MUST include Title, Author(s), Author Affiliation(s) and Category data in your abstract before the actual text of the abstract. (See example template below)
Abstracts must include: Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
Abstract titles should be concise and should not contain abbreviations. The first letter of each word should be capitalized.
The submitting author is automatically designated as the primary/presenting author.

Abstracts are peer-reviewed by the APWCA peer-review committee selected by the APWCA course directors. All grading is blinded prior to peer-review.
